- Interstoff Asia’s Directions trends for Autumn/Winter 2006/07 revealed
- Nelly Rodi Agency to design this year's trend forum and conduct trend seminars
- 'Blue note', 'landscape', 'heritage' and 'sweet secrets' are the trend themes for next season

The Interstoff Asia Directions trend committee will present its apparel fabric trends forecast for Autumn/Winter 2006/07 at Interstoff Asia Autumn, to be held from 5 – 7 October 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The season's themes will be displayed in a forum designed by the Directions committee member: Nelly Rodi Agency from Paris.

Asked about the importance of trends, Mr. Pierre-François Le Louet, General Manager of Nelly Rodi Agency says: " Every company needs early information in order to develop creative styles that correspond to the brand's concept. For most of our clients, we develop creative inputs to help the designers' day to day work. Every company can have the information but not everyone can have a good analysis of it. Today quantity is not enough to be successful : now quality is the key. I believe that our agency can help exhibitors and visitors of Interstoff Asia to find this qualitative information".

Each year, Interstoff Asia commissions top trend forecasters from around the world to devise the next season’s trend stories. The Directions trend committee for 2005 includes Nelly Rodi Agency (Paris), Elementi Moda (Milan), Here & There (New York), Global Color Research (London) and Sachiko Inoue (Tokyo).

These world leading trend forecasters have combined their knowledge of the world fashion and local influences to present the trends of Autumn/Winter 2006/07, a season where paradoxes play an interesting role, creating completely new confrontations. To illustrate this concept, the committee has divided the trends into four main themes: 'Blue note', 'Landscape', 'Heritage' and 'Sweet secrets'.

Blue note:

This theme has been inspired by the elegant attitude of men's closets combined with a jazzy touch. The colours are a flood of winter blues with black used in touches to add a dramatic effect.

Landscape:

All the different aspects of nature and the sense of the 'hand-made' are the basis of this theme with vegetal greens taking the centre stage.

Heritage:

History, past culture and modern vintage serve as inspirational source. All styles of decoration are embraced ranging from aristocratic baroque to folk and ethnic art. The colour palette includes red and burgundy tones with ambers and autumnal yellows.

Sweet secrets:

This is a soft and sweet world where child-women express their desire for romanticism with a modern 'arty' influence.

Nelly Rodi Agency will conduct detailed presentations on trends at seminars held during the fair.
